Milan to Bormio 🇮🇹

After hopping into bed at 1.15am this morning we were a little slow moving this morning. We packed up and caught the train to collect the hire car. The location was just near the Olympic Ice Rink that Andy has been volunteering at.
Off we went driving on the right with Andy and two backseat drivers to assist with the complexity of city driving.
After an hour or so we were passing by Lake Como, sparkling blue water and clear blue skies. Andy took a diversion to visit Varenna and we wandered the shoreline and had pizza with the most amazing views of the lake and snow capped mountains. A gelati for after as we walked around to the boat Harbour where you can catch a ferry to Bellagio. A few hours spent enjoy the views and exploring the steep alley ways 😊
Then back in the car to head to the mountains. We stopped for some groceries and drove through many tunnels. Arriving in the dark meant we were able to see all the castles lit up!
We have arrived in Bormio, our home for the next few days. As we came out of the last tunnel we were in the snow again! We will be attending some Olympic events and enjoying this Alpine region.
I went for a short walk while Narelle whipped up dinner and discovered the Ski Mountaineering skifield is 5 mins walk away. I crossed a mostly frozen river and very quiet on the streets tonight as no events this evening.
Can't wait to explore tomorrow!
